Groups

Every Wednesday from 7pm - 9pm, Ingersoll holds our "All-Trans", peer-facilitated support group at the offices of Seattle Counseling Services (Seattle Counseling Services 1216 Pine St Suite 300 Seattle, Washington 98101). This group is the foundation of all of Ingersoll's programming, and also provides a great place for trans*, transgender, gender variant, genderqueer, questioning, friends, family and community allies to come together for information and mutual support. We meet every Wednesday, even holidays, no exceptions.

Groups are facilitated by trained peer-facilitators from our own community. Discussions are free ranging, confidential and focused on the interests and concerns of the people who attend the group. This is also a good place to come to get information and referrals for other services you may need. There is no cost for this group, but donations are encouraged, to help supplement program expenses. Groups are always drop-in, there is no need to RSVP. Timeliness is appreciated.

In addition to our Wednesday support group, we have a Saturday Social group.  This group meets at noon on Saturdays at the Ingersoll Gender Center Trans* Space (517 E Pike Street, lower floor Seattle, WA 98122) and is a time for socializing and getting to know other community members.

Additonally, the last Thursday of each month, we've got a Book Club from 7-9 at the Ingersoll Gender Center Trans*Space. This book club is for trans* identfied people and RSVP is required for this Book Club to kyle.ingersollgender@gmail.com. In July, (meeting on 7/28), we will be discussing Leslie Feinberg's Transgender Warriors

To keep it fresh, we've got a number of different services that happen at our Wednesday support groups. Here's a "cheat sheet" as to what they are:

1st Wednesday of the month: We host breakout groups for transfeminine people, transmasculine people. SOFFAs (significant others, family, friends, and allies), All Gender Expressions (AGE), special topics,  We also host a QLaw Clinic and a STEEP (Seattle Transgender Employment Project) group.

2nd Wednesday of the month: We meet as a single, large group.

3rd Wednesday of the month: We host breakout groups for transfeminine people, transmasculine people. SOFFAs (significant others, family, friends, and allies), All Gender Expressions (AGE), special topics, and queer/trans* people of color (QTPOC).
