I believe we are all whole. Sometimes we need a change of perspective to be able to identify our strengths. Like the dandelion, what some might view as a weed, I view as something resilient, and beautiful, with restorative properties.
I love working with non-traditional family structures. Identity matters and it’s something that can be a relief to unpack. I also enjoy working with the partners and parents of trans* and genderqueer people . I am passionate about working with children and youth. It’s an honor for me to help support our youth and avoid preventable pain and loss in their adult years.
I am poly and kink affirming and knowledgeable & sex and body positive. I especially enjoy working with people through gender exploration and if they choose, gender transition. I am happy to write letters to help support this process.
I aman active member of National Association of Social Workers (NASW), World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), and Washington State Society for Clinical Social Work (WSSCSW). I facilitate support groups for parents of gender-variant children through Gender Diversity, and have developed and facilitated tween programming at Gender Odyssey. One of my proudest accomplishments is a cross-systems intervention I created for teachers, medical providers, and mental health providers to support gender-variant youth: http://digitalcommons.tacoma.uw.edu/msw_capstones/1/
I am also in the Out in Front Seattle leadership development program.
