I have been fortunate enough to have had trans* and gender variant people in my life for as long as I can remember, both personally and professionally -- so I've had the enormous benefit of being able to process what I've learned academically in queer and trans* spaces. I focused my education on LGBTQ and gender studies as they interact with counseling and clinical psychology, and I hold a Certificate in LGBT Studies from the University of Colorado Boulder. Over the years, I have attended (and sometimes provided) many trainings and presentations that are relevant to the trans* communities. My practice has always been specifically focused on helping transfolks to find power, purpose, and joy in their identities and their stories -- and I love what I do. Please have a look at my website if you would like more information. I truly look forward to meeting you, and to collaborating with you to find what brings confidence and happiness to your life!
I use both the WPATH and ICATH models: I practice with the WPATH Standards of Care as an ethical framework, and I use informed consent to provide you with access to the medical interventions you desire. I believe that you have the right to power and control over your treatment, and I will write letters for hormone therapy and for surgeries as soon as you are ready to begin those procedures.
