Matt Goldenberg, Psy.D., LMHC
Licensed Clinical Psychologist PY60416098
I have several years of experience working clinically with the trans*/gender variant population and have been an activist within this community for over a decade. My dissertation research looked at experiences of partners of transgender people and I have trained many other mental health professionals on how to work ethically and effectively within this population. I am aware that while some clients may be coming in because their experiences with gender is distressing, other clients may be wanting support for other issues in their life. I work with clients to explicitly create treatment goals that fit the most current, prevalent issues and use a variety of techniques within my practice. I am a client-centered therapist and am inspired by a variety of technique and theory, including but not limited to cognitive-behavioral therapy, existential therapy, feminist theory, and psycho dynamic theory. I am a faculty member at both University of Washington and Bastyr University. I welcome you to look through my website for more information about my style and my experience.
I utilize the WPATH standards or care as well as ICATH. I provide assessment and will write recommendation letters for medicalized transition.
